About the DRI

Goals / Purpose

  1. To turn the Dinosaur Research Institute into an enduring source of stable, reliable private funding for dinosaur and palaeontological research by leading research specialists and facilities.
     
  2. To fund important dinosaur recovery and research projects principally in the Province of Alberta.
     
  3. To fund research by visiting palaeontologists to the province of Alberta.
     
  4. To provide research grants to graduate students working with qualified researchers and facilities.
     
  5. To fund comparative research that may be undertaken by any qualified scientist in any geographical location.
     
  6. To operate in cooperation and collaboration with the Royal Tyrrell Museum, other scientific and educational institutions and researchers, the business and philanthropic sectors, the community at large and government.
     
  7. To ensure the highest standards of quality in dinosaur and palaeontological research.
     
  8. To enhance and promote the image and reputation of dinosaur researchers and institutions, and the benefits to the community of such research and facilities.
     
  9. To educate the general public on the value and benefits to mankind of dinosaur research, and the role of private funding in its advancement.
     
  10. To become a respected scholarly authority on dinosaur research able to confer profitable endorsements and seals of approval for dinosaur paraphernalia marketers.
